Those of you who were suckered into buying Gran Turismo 5 Prologue may have been on to something, since it seems like the glorified demo is as close as we’re going to get to GT5 for a very, very, very, very, VERY long time.

Speaking with Joystiq, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi let it be known that GT5 “might not even roll out before 2010.”

Well, for starters the team at Polyphany is working on additional content for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, including extra tracks and cars. Additionally, Yamauchi and the gang are filming a series for Gran Turismo TV. Also, unconfirmed reports indicate that they have begun to sculp a giant, 100-foot tall middle finger out of bronze.
