E3: Animal Crossing: City Folk For Wii this Year

Since the Wii’s launch, everybody has been wondering when Nintendo was going to show a new Animal Crossing game. Well, we finally know with the official announcement of Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii.

The biggest detail with the game includes “Wii Speak” functionality. Wii Speak is what Nintendo called “a community microphone”, which will allow players to be able to chat with each other. At last.

Other details include the auction house, where you’ll be able to buy and sell items with other players as well as NPCs (if I understood correctly), as well as the ability to customize your character with additional clothing, hair styles, and the ability to import your Mii.

As per usual with Nintendo’s announcements, not a lot of information was given about the game. But what info we did learn was rather juicy.

Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii will be on store shelves in 2008 — and there was much rejoicing…
