If you were impressed with E3 2008, you’re a sad, sad being. Yes, Microsoft had the best showing amongst the three big consoles, but that’s like saying you only lost your legs while your two friends were being digested by Jaws. In the end, nobody won and while some companies spent the week of E3 patting themselves on the back, the average gamer was left to ponder their existence.
So naturally, we should all be excited for E3 2009, right?!
As we do every year, we’re beginning the process of surveying exhibitors and attendees to determine potential changes to the Summit. Once this is completed and shared with the ESA’s Board of Directors, we will make an announcement about the specifics of the 2009 E3 Media & Business Summit, which will occur.
You know what would make E3 good again? I’ll give you a hint: It’s what made it good in the first place. You took the showmanship and fun out of what is now obviously an otherwise boring ass event.
Let’s hope that we can get something like what the old E3 used to be, because let’s be honest: When a powerpoint presentation is regarded as the high point of the entire week, there’s a serious problem.
