Disney Hopes to Turn Your DS into a Tour Guide

The Nintendo DS does a lot of things. It plays video games, it… um… plays… video games? Okay, so the Nintendo DS isn’t exactly a versatile device. You know what you’re getting with you buy a DS (a killer handheld), more or less. However, the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida has a new idea for the Nintendo DS: as a Wi-Fi enabled interactive tour guide.

The software that Disney hopes to implement for the DS would allow park goers to access an interactive guide, as well as a park map and other informational tools to assist guests trying to find their way around the magic kingdom.

It’s an interesting idea, but we’ll wait and see just how practical it is in use. While it may be a cool little distraction for the kids, odds are most adults aren’t going to be flipping their DSs open to find out why they can’t find the Tree of Life.
