‘Deus Ex’ vet working on ‘immersive first-person RPG’

Harvey Smith, who was the lead designer on the massively underrated Deus Ex: Invisible War, told those in attendance at the Austin GDC that he and his studio, Arkane Studios, is hard at work on an “immersive first-person RPG”.

Smith went on to say that his studio was “very focused on immersive first-person experiences” and that his focus was “very much around games like Deus Ex“.

Before you shake your head and scoff, keep in mind that Smith has previously worked on both Deus Ex games, Thief: Deadly Shadows and the original System Shock while working at Looking Glass Studios. So I would give the man the benefit of the doubt.

But what about the true Deus Ex sequel, Deus Ex 3? Look for more info in the upcoming issue of PC Zone magazine.
