Over the weekend you Call of Duty 4 drones fans killed Xbox LIVE as you collectively stormed the service in an attempt to download the new variety map pack. During the downtime many users encountered simple connection errors. Some users even lost their MSPoints.
If you don’t remember, there was a similar problem right around Christmas, 2007 that stretched into the new year, where the influx of new Xbox LIVE users essentially crashed the whole damn thing. Just like last time, this time there were many posts with strong anti-Microsoft sentiment popping up across websites and message boards. Some users even went so far as to switch sides and begin using their PlayStation 3s more for online gaming.
It should be noted that Xbox LIVE is now up and running at full capacity, and is ready to handle your downloading needs… suckers…
This whole experience has brought up the question of whether or not online gaming should be free. It’s something I’ll be touching on a little later this week.
What do you think about this past weekend, and the problems Xbox LIVE had in meeting the demand of the people?
