After Bungie announced that they weren’t going to be making their big announcement at E3 (and then announced that they weren’t joking), many a person assumed that Bungie would be making their big announcement at PAX at the end of August. After all, it’s a big gaming event in Seattle, near Microsoft’s home port. It’d make sense, right?
For the record, we have no plans to make any big announcements or huge reveals at PAX this year. While we will have some Halo 3 multiplayer stuff for you to check out, this is not going to be the “big announcement” many of our fans are clamoring for. Rest assured that when the time is right, we will be making announcements and talking about the stuff we’re currently working on. At the moment we do have three distinct projects underway within Bungie – some familiar, some not. Some on a closer horizon, some quite far off.
Well, what other events do we have in the forseeable future? Leipzig? Tokyo Game Show? Maybe Bungie will wait until E for All and give that event some legitimacy as a news-breaking conference, I don’t know. But the fact remains that it won’t be at PAX, which is probably a good thing. PAX is chock foll o’ stuff as it is.
