Bethesda: New Elder Scrolls ‘Possible’ in 2010

I’m not sure how the hell this slipped by, but I wouldn’t be fulfilling my duties as a fanbitch if I didn’t pass this lovely nugget of information along to you find people: Bethesda plans on releasing a new Elder Scrolls game by 2010.

Speaking with those actual gaming journalists over at GamesIndustry.biz, Bethesda’s publishing executive and 2007 beer pong champion* Paul Oughton told the world people reading GI.biz that Bethesda could have a new entry in their Elder Scrolls series by 2010.

At the moment we’ve got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there’s a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010.

Now, if you’re one of those who hope that Bethesda will bring one of their top-tier titles to the Nintendo Wii, allow me a moment to laugh at you.

…oh, and they’re not going to.

At the moment we’re not that interested in the Wii. We’re going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We’ll continue to pursue three or four titles a year and go for big titles.

Bethesda had more kind and not-so-kind words for Nintendo, both praising Nintendo for their innovation and helping gaming reach a mass market, while backhandedly blaming Nintendo for “market saturation”.

But who cares about that? Elder Scrolls in 2010!
