It should also be noted that today is the 25th Anniversary of Scott Safran’s world record-setting Asteroids game. Although he didn’t finish the game for nearly 72 hours, the then-fifteen year-old Safran slipped his first quarter into the cabinet and began playing. Safran’s record-breaking score of 41,336,440 has remained to this day, although Safran himself died in 1989. – Wired
