ActiBlizzard Continues to Clean House: 100+ Employees, Two Games Cancelled

Sad news out of ActiBlizzard, where several repots are indicating that a whole lot of people (read: over 150) have been fired as the new company continues it’s restructuring. In all, nearly 100 employees from Radical Entertainment and an additional 60 from High Moon Studios were told to GTFO over the past week.

“Activision Blizzard is committed to making the best games possible and has elected at this time to reduce the number of titles that Radical is developing from four games to two,” said Radical Entertainment’s human resources Vice President, Leah Rubin. “Therefore, we will be proportionately reducing the size of our studio.”

For what little consolation it’s worth, Radical Entertainment will continue to work on both Prototype and Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant. What will happen with High Moon Studios remains up in the air, as the license to the Jason Bourne franchise has been obtained by Ludlum Entertainment.

  1. Ok, I never really saw Activision or Vivendi as total assholes until they merged. When they did, their asshole factor skyrocketed. They’re so much like EA now, EA looks good. I mean EA hasn’t seemed that terrible lately. It has been a while since they closed down Westwood Studios, Bullfrog, and whatnot afterall. But Activision Blizzard seems eager to take their place.
