Nearly 200 Walk Out of Free “Postal” Screening
There is no kind, soft lead into this story, so I’m just going to say it: 200 people walked out of a free screening of Uwe Boll’s Postal, because the opening scenes of the film, which depict terrorists deciding to turn their planes towards the Bahamas rather than crash them into the World Trade Center, only to crash them into the World Trade Center after passengers storm the cockpit.
Let me reiterate so this doesn’t slip past anybody: Two hundred people… walked out of a free showing of Uwe Boll’s Postal… in the first ten minutes.

According to The Jersey Journal, one of those people who walked out of the film was Mat Levy, who you all may remember as “Cheezy” on VH1’s “I Love New York”. “Cheezy” had this to say about the movie:
It’s too soon to mock a plane going into the World Trade Center. Do you not think there are families out there that had their loved ones killed on 9/11? It really upsets me that he couldn’t care less.
Boll defended the film, saying that while he didn’t want to hurt anybody, he wanted Postal to break the rules, and bring into question what exactly is “taboo”.
All the same, two hundred people, give or take a handful… wow… however sad that this story may sound, it begs the question: Which is more pathetic? The fact that the film itself was already available for free showings, or that the audience still stormed out in droves?

there have been many trailers showing the first five minutes which the plane crashes into the building so i knew what was coming when i saw the movie. this satire was uwe boll’s effort yet. i understand some people wouldn’t apprieciate the dark humour, but come on, this was just a plain nasty FU to uwe. grow people.

Like how you wouldn’t need bombs to collapse the towers because although steel melts at 1525 degrees C and jet fuel burns at 825 degrees C, steel loses 50% of its strength at 648 degrees C. The reason they collapsed in such a tidy fashion was because the building had started to melt in on itself.

The public is ready to talk about 9/11. United 93 won an armful of awards and got pretty decent reviews. People can deal with thoughtfully done portrayals of the pain they felt on 9/11. People have grown up. That’s why they don’t want to see 9/11 portrayed beside a bunch of fart jokes. There have been jokes about 9/11 before without a huge backlash. But Uwe Boll jokes about 9/11 in the way that someone might joke about your grandmother’s recent death by dry humping the corpse at the funeral. Uwe Boll practically begs the audience to say that he’s controversial or edgy. He’s trying to be more ridiculous than South Park, but he completely lacks wit and tact so it devolves into nothing more than stupid jokes that offend rather than amuse.
We already have several movies about 9/11. People are just mad because this one is completely tasteless. This is like if someone made a movie about Jews laughing and dancing into the gas chambers (Fun fact: Jerry Lewis actually made that movie. It was never released because someone realized what a terrible idea it was after shooting was done but before it shipped.)

And about plans to crash planes into buildings: There are top secret papers from the 60’s revealed, where the US government actually made plans to crash planes into skyscrapers to be able to declare war on Cuba and the communists in general. You can look up for that.
